Lesson #1 in photoshopping a picture when you plan to use said picture in your political campaign: Don’t pick a picture that will bite you in the ass.
(If you will recall, I have discussed the photoshopping issue before when the Haslam campaign used a picture of Zach Wamp in a mailer.)
As I recently posted in Jerome Cochran: X-man seeking to avenge wrongdoing? pfft, a picture was posted last night on Cochran’s Facebook page and circulated via text message showing Speaker Kent Williams with former UT Football Coach Lane Kiffin.
Exhibit A
Hmmm. Where have we seen this picture before?
Exhibit B
The photo, taken in February 2009, is of Speaker Williams and Senator Bill Frist.
If you wanted to make a funny Cochran, might I suggest something like this?

Cochran got the pic from someone else and thought it was funny. It was a joke. Get over it.
There is a difference between having a supporter create something and post it to your facebook or distribute it, and personally posting it yourself, as a candidate. The nuance might be like splitting hairs to some, but it isn’t so much the picture, as it is an example of the desperate acts of a candidate who will be lucky to garner 30% of the vote. Candidates who both understand how to run an effective campaign and/or who are firmly in the lead wouldn’t directly attach there name to such a thing. Carter Countians know that Cochran did little as a legislator for the area. They know and respect the Williams’ family, who have called the area home for at least a century. They know that Speaker Williams has given them a voice. Yes, Speaker Williams will win, get over it Cochran.

Cochran will this fall most likely be a three-time loser going up against Speaker Kent Williams.

Should conservatives use the race card? Are you doing this because you are racist?
What are you talking about Josh? Racist? How in the world do you get something about the race card from this story?
Zach the RINO embraced “Speaker” Kent Williams…and, what did he get?
THIRD PLACE in Carter County!
Zach Wamp a RINO? I’d hate to know what you think about Bill Haslam. Haslam didn’t avoid Speaker Williams – they get along quite well actually. In fact, Speaker Williams is spending a lot of time in Nashville right now specifically to help ensure that the transition between Bredesen and Governor Haslam is a smooth one. (Because everyone knows he is going to win.)
Also, you might be interested to know the former TNGOP chair, Robin Smith, said publicly that Speaker WIlliams is more conservative than she is. Speaker Williams has done more for the people of Carter County than Jerome ever thought about doing. Carter County knows it.
